What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapists assist the recovery process of people with health problems resulting from injury or disease.  We use exercises and hands on treatments including specific muscle/joint stretching and manual techniques to make patients stronger, relieve their pain, and to improve ability to perform activities of daily living such as lifting, sports and hobbies.  Physical modalities including heat, cold ultrasound, traction and many varieties of electric stimulation are also used to help with pain management.

By instruction in the importance of fitness and showing patients how to avoid hurting their bodies at work and play by designing and supervising individualized exercise programs, physical therapist promote optimal physical wellness.
